Reflection |
While this course may not have had my best attendance/on-time record, I do feel that I did a good job in the amount of effort and time I put into my projects. English is one subject that I am fairly decent at and still enjoy, as I love writing. To improve, coming on time would be a start, although the reason behind my absences is much deeper than a simple, "Oh, let's go to English this morning." Putting more effort into studying the class-provided novels (i.e. the quotations in Macbeth) and getting assignments in at their due dates would also be beneficial. I know I could have done a lot better but unfortunately it isn't that simple.
Every year in English, I improve. That isn't something I've missed this year. I believe my writing skills are stronger and my deep analysis skills have vastly improved. Before studying Macbeth, Indian Horse, and 1984, I would not have thought my brain could dig so deep into a subject without it being explicitly stated. This is a skill that will definitely benefit me as I progress in life. As well, learning about different paragraphs and experimenting with alternate essay organization is something I'm glad I've learned. Overall, I'm happy with what I've taken from Grade 11 English (considering my absences). Thank you to my teacher this semester for teaching me and helping me to expand my skills and knowledge. |
